MEXICO — Annie L. Roberts, 97, a longtime resident of the Mexico area, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, at her residence.
She was born on May 10, 1920, in Mexico, a daughter of the late George and Gertrude Murray.
Annie was educated in the local Mexico School District.
She worked with her husband at Boise Cascade in Rumford for many years. Along with the paper mill, she also worked at the Dixfield Mill. She was also a very devoted homemaker most of her life.
Annie was a communicant of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Rumford and a member of the Women’s Guild. She was a very active participant of the Widows and Widowers Group.
Annie loved great food, traveling, socializing with her friends and had a wonderful smile that would light up a room.
During the last years of her life, she was surrounded and cared for by her granddaughter, Anne (White) Lawill and her grandson, Christopher White and his companion, Christina Chickering.
Annie will be loved and missed by many and we will always love you Grandma, today, tomorrow and forever.
She is survived by her two children, Annie Chartier of Mexico and Dale Roberts of the Villages, Fla.; her adopted daughter, Doris Howes of Brunswick; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Annie was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of many happy years, Lee Roberts; two brothers, Earl Murray and Donald Murray; and three sisters, Lola Holmes, Alice Paul and Myrtle Kron.
