LEWISTON — The 15th annual Make a Difference Day was organized at Blake Street Towers on Oct. 28 by the Edie’s Angels community volunteers.

The well-attended event is planned for all year long by the volunteers. Mary and Peggy McRae lead the group, joined by family and coworkers from the Central Maine Medical Center T3/cardiopulmonary unit.

They work each year to enlist and gather volunteers from CMMC, the community and families to sponsor and carry out the event. The group includes youth and adults.

The gala includes a warm meal for the residents, raffle prizes and care packages for residents. The care packages include many household and food items. Approximately 65 to 70 percent of the 110 residents benefit.
