HAMDEN, CT — A third period scoring burst from the University of Maine men’s hockey team led the Black Bears to a 7-4 victory over Quinnipiac in a non-conference contest.
Freshman Eduards Tralmaks had two goals in the third period to pace the Black Bears. Sophomore defenseman Patrick Holway, a sixth-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2016, had a goal and two assists to lead the Black Bears offensively. Sophomores Mitchell Fossier and Ted Dohery each had a goal and an assist for Maine.
Cedric Lacroix and Brendan Robbins also scored in the victory. The Boston Bruins’ fourth-round selection from this past June, Jeremy Swayman, made 50 saves in the victory.
Karlis Cuskte, Tanner McMaster, Scott Davidson and Bo Pieper scored for the Bobcats.
Andrew Shortridge made 23 saves in the loss.
