“Progress” means moving forward; better today than yesterday. I was born in Lewiston. When I was growing up in our little house, my parents taught me those with more should help those with less; those who are strong, stand up for those who are not.
Those ideals are often called “socialist” by critics of progress; however, those same people would agree that those are the values they instill in their children. Those same people make regular improvements to their homes. If you want your house to be a place where the members help one another, and you work to improve your house, don’t you want the same for the community that is your home?
Ben Chin has been called “progressive” and “socialist,” but the Lewiston he wants to build sounds like the home where my parents raised me.
Lewiston residents should vote for Ben Chin.
