AUBURN — Robert B. Poisson, 95, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, following a period of declining health at Clover Health Care in Auburn.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 1, 1922, the son of Leopold and Cora (Boisvert) Poisson.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as an intercept radio operator. Upon returning home he worked with the CCC throughout the state of Maine. He then worked in the tree service industry throughout New England before going to work in the retail industry for the rest of his career, which ended when he retired from Macy’s in 1987.

Survivors include his three sons, Leo Poisson and wife, Noreen of N.H., George Poisson of California and Paul Poisson and wife, Lisa of Maine. Six grandchildren, Matthew Poisson and wife, Shawna, James Poisson and wife, Christine, Christine (Poisson) Fortin and husband, David, Joshua Poisson and wife, Melissa, Gillian Poisson, Jessica(Poisson) McLean and husband, Adam; 10 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Heather, Sarah, Michael, Annalise, Harris, Hannah, Samuel, Callum and Madison; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aubree.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Georgette (Landry) Poisson; and their son, David Poisson.
