NORWAY — Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine is taking reservations for  a free Reiki session at the Winter Reiki Clinic.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Norway Town Office, 19 Danforth St. The clinic is for people in treatment for cancer, cancer survivors and caregivers. A reservation for a 20-minute individual chair session is required and may be made by calling 207-890-0329 before noon Friday, Jan. 19.

After that date, remaining time slots will be available to anyone in the community wishing to experience Reiki for themselves.

Reiki is gentle touch that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, helps relieve pain and may help improve sleep. Reiki is not a substitute for medical care or treatment. The next Reiki clinic is scheduled for April 21.

The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine is located at 199 Main St. in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building. The center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday and a variety of programs, as well as comfort items, are offered free to anyone impacted by cancer.
