Sons of Italy memorial Mass

RUMFORD — The Sons of Italy Lodge 467 will have a memorial Mass for the deceased members at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the Parish of the Holy Savior.

Service of Lessons and Carols

MECHANIC FALLS — The public is invited to a Service of Lessons and Carols at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration, 64 Elm St. It will replace the normal Sunday morning service.

Readings from the Bible (the lessons) will be followed by music that reflects on the readings. The service tells the Christmas story and provides an opportunity for the congregation to sing traditional Christmas carols.

The Church of the Transfiguration is an Anglican denomination that meets in the former Congregational Church building. Music is played on the original pipe organ at the church. The parish is celebrating its first anniversary with a congregation from Mechanic Falls, the Oxford Hills, Lewiston-Auburn and surrounding area.

Kid’s Connection at The Ark

LEWISTON — The Ark & Olive Branch Cafe will host Kid’s Connection at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month at 791 Lisbon St.

The monthly program includes creative, hands-on learning with arts and crafts, Bible stories, practicing healthy habits and nature exploration.

The program is free for children ages 6 to 12, but registration is required.
