LEWISTON — All are invited Saturday to the Dance Party Social (African music) at the Gendron Franco Center. The gathering is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Heritage Hall, 46 Cedar St.  Onsite parking is available.

 This is the center’s first five-hour event to bring together all who love African music.

“We are hoping that everyone will feel welcome to come and meet new friends from all over Africa and beyond,” said Mitch Thomas, the center’s executive director.

Nigel Katende is the young DJ providing African dance music, including Afro-Beat, Lingala, Zouk and Soukous.

Tere is a $5 cover at the door. A cash bar and light snacks will be available.

The Franco Center is handicap-accessible.
