FARMINGTON — Brewer overcame a 10-point first-half deficit by outscoring Mt. Blue, 22-5, in the third quarter, then held off the Cougars in the fourth for a 59-52 victory in KVAC girls’ basketball action Monday.
MacKenzie Dorr scored 18 points and Cassidy Smith 11 to lead the Witches (2-4), who made 15 of 21 free throws to help stave off Mt. Blue’s comeback attempt. Lexi Mittelstadt led all scorers with 23 points for the Cougars (2-4), while Joeclyn Daggett added nine points.

FARMINGTON — Brewer outscored Mt. Blue by 15 points in the second quarter and the Cougars never recovered, falling to the Witches, 57-48, in KVAC boys’ basketball action on Monday.
Isaac Cummings led all scorers with 17 points while Brandon Glidden added 13 for the Witches (3-3). Marshall Doyon paced the Cougars (0-6) with 16 points, while James Anderson chipped in with 14.
