AUBURN — Alfred T. Palmer, 63, of Lewiston, died Friday, Dec. 29, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving family at his side. The son of George and Minne Mae Palmer, he was born June 1, 1954, in Princess Anne, Md. He attended Maryland schools and moved to Lewiston as a young man, where he worked at a variety of local businesses.
Known for his sense of humor, he enjoyed playing basketball in his younger years, and loved to play cards and shoot pool with his friends. He especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters, Amy Turner and her husband, Zamar, of Fort Drum, N.Y., Sarah Bowie of Camp Springs, Md., and Katie Palmer and husband, Joseph Philippon, of Lewiston; his former wife, Pat Willis; his two brothers, Bruce Palmer, of Lewiston, and George Palmer, of Augusta; two sisters, Hattie Palmer of Salisbury, Md., and Joyce Ann Polk of Princess Anne, Md.; and six grandchildren, Dantae, Devonn and Amiyah Turner, Chayli Bowie, Isaha L’Heureux and Jackson Philippon. He is predeceased by his wife, Carol Ann Bowie; and brothers, Nathaniel Mullen, Wesley White and Cleveland Palmer.
