RUMFORD — Arthur J. “Buddy” Gallant, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, at his residence on Hillside Avenue, Rumford, with his family by his side.
He was born in Rumford on Sept. 9, 1948, the son of Anita Gallant, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.
Buddy owned and operated the Auto Body Repair Shop. He was a member of the Western Maine Street Rods and the Polar Bear Snowmobile Club.
He was married in Mexico on Feb. 4, 1967, to Joyce Dorr who died in Rumford on March 2, 2008, and remarried in Rumford July 10, 2015, to Vicki Gill who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include daughter Rhonda Gallant of Florida; son Christopher Gallant and wife Lori of Peru; stepdaughter Michelle Whitaker and her husband Ryan of Colorado; stepson Kenneth Magoon III and wife Heather of Rumford; stepbrothers Richard and Donald Coulombe of Rumford and Roger Coulombe of Carthage; stepsister Nancy Duguay and husband Wayne of Thomaston; grandchildren, Kenneth Jamison Jr., Christie and Morgan Gallant; step-grandchildren, Lily Bea Whitaker, Chandler Gallant and Andrew Weston.
