WEST PARIS — Irene Hilda Currier, 88, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Ledgeview Living Center. She was born April 9, 1929, in Portland, to Patrick and Marion Norton.
She worked in area shoe shops as a stitcher and later worked for Sno-Kraft. Hilda enjoyed knitting, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren, Josh, Shelbi and Anthony.
She is survived by her daughter, Shari Whitman, and husband, Toby; brother, Sonny Norton, and his wife, Shirley; her half-sister, Beverly; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Pat D. Hussey and Bonnie Henderson; brothers and sisters, John, Joe, Linwood, Anthony, Cay, Tootsie, Puddy and Elaine.
