FARMINGTON — The Maine School Management Association will present options Tuesday to help the Regional School Unit 9 board search for a new superintendent.

The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Forum at Mt. Blue Campus. It is open to the public.

Superintendent Tom Ward announced in December he would retire at the end of the 2018 school year on June 30.

Ward has led the district since July 1, 2013.

The association, located in Augusta, has different levels of services and costs that it can provide to the board of directors for the superintendent’s search, Ward said Thursday.

The association will also give a workshop on board operations following the search presentation, he said.

The association “serves as an advocate for the interests of the state’s public school students and school units and provides programs and services that support the needs of the membership,” according to its website.
