LISBON — The Lisbon Parks & Recreation Winter Fest 2018 will take place Saturday, Jan. 20, at Beaver Park, with new hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.

There will be plenty of free food and hot drinks; some refreshments provided by Sunshine Hill Seniors. There will be a wood carving display, a collection of antique snowmobiles and a demonstration of ice block carving.

The Lisbon Fire Department will perform a cold water rescue drill on the pond, and the Lisbon Boy Scout Troop will have campfires for warming. There will be snowshoes available to try. Those wishing may take a ride on a dog sled, which is $10 per person and reservations are encouraged by calling 207-353-2289.

New this year, Ben Nugent, wildlife biologist, will offer two snowshoe tours in the park at 10:30 a.m. and noon. Those taking the tour should bring snowshoes. The pond will be cleared for ice skating as weather permits.

A shuttle van will be available and greeters will let folks know where things are happening.
