DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need help from you and possibly from some faithful readers of your column, as I am.

For several years I have used a cleaning product called “Greased Lightning.” It is a product of Home Care Labs, Inc. in Lawrenceville, Ga. I used to purchase this product by the quart at Walmart in Oxford. They stopped carrying it, but a friend found it at BJ’s in Auburn in the gallon size so I have been buying it there for the past few years. Now, they too, have stopped carrying it. I depend on this cleaner inside and outside my home. Please help me if possible and thank you in advance.

ANSWER: This product can be difficult to find but I suggest you talk with customer service at Walmart if you haven’t already and request that they return this product to their shelves. Oftentimes, simply letting the store manager know you need a particular product is all it takes.

If that doesn’t work, call your nearest Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, Hannaford, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. I have also seen it at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar. According to the company’s web site, Greased Lightning is supplied to all those stores.

It can also be ordered from Amazon and any of the above-mentioned stores’ websites. If all else fails, contact Home Care Labs at 1-800-646-7730. Hopefully, their customer service department is as wonderful as their product!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Jan. 8 Sun Spots about closed captioning, is there an organization or group that is working on making it better and how do I reach them? My elderly mother-in-law needs the closed captions and gets very cranky when they don’t work well. I would like to be able to contact anyone who can help make them right. Thank you.

ANSWER: I recommend that you look on your cable bill and contact the VPD (video program distributor) listed. You can also contact the problematic TV station directly, but you do have to take this action as soon as the problem occurs.

Better yet, file a written complaint with specifics with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) within 60 days of experiencing the captioning issue. If you need assistance with this, contact the FCC Disability Rights Office at dro@fcc.gov or call 202-418-2517 (voice), 888-835-5322 (TTY) or 1-844-432-2275 (videophone). You can also file a complaint online at www.fcc.gov. Your mother-in-law and all people with impaired hearing have the right to enjoy their TV viewing.
