It’s not a blockbuster of a snow storm, but we’ll need the shovels and plows again Wednesday and travel conditions will be tricky.
The snow moved in late Tuesday night as a weak area of low pressure approached from the south.
Expect this weak storm to pass just east of our area through the Gulf of Maine Wednesday, spreading snow most of the day.
Here’s how the storm is expected to unfold.
Timing
Snow will be light early Wednesday morning, and then become moderate during the course of the day.
It should snow for the entire day Wednesday.
The back edge of the storm should push east of our area between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Type
It will be all snow for most. The exception will be some peninsulas and islands where mixing is possible.
Consistency won’t be as fluffy as previous storms due to temperatures warming to around freezing Wednesday afternoon.
How Much
[media-credit name=”National Weather Service” align=”aligncenter” width=”863″][/media-credit]
Most of the region should pick up 4 to 7 inches of snow.
The highest amounts should occur along the coast.
Winds
Winds should remain fairly light during the storm and are not expected to be a significant.
Thursday
Sunshine will make a welcome return on Thursday and temperatures look seasonable in the 20s.
