LEWISTON — Claudette Antoinette Rivard, 86, died unexpectedly at CMMC on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 11:55 p.m., due to a fall at her home at 972 Lisbon St. on Monday, Jan. 15.

Claudette was born in Lewiston on March 2, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Diana (Castonguay) Blier. She married Normand C. Rivard on July 29, 1949, and was married for 66 years until his tragic death on Nov. 18, 2015. She worked at the Pepperell Mill until they closed, then worked at Supreme Slipper until her retirement in 1993.

She loved to read, go shopping, go out for breakfast every morning at Rolly’s and watch the Red Sox and Patriots games, but most of all she loved to go to Las Vegas or the Oxford Casino.

She is survived by three children: a son, Normand Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Glenburn; two daughters, Diane Drinkwater and husband, Gary, and Lorraine Bard and husband, Roger, both of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hebert and husband, Dan, of New Hampshire, Amy Heimerl and husband, Eric, of Auburn, Andrew Bard, of Lewiston, and Marissa Rivard, of Glenburn; and two great-granddaughters, Allison and Paige Hebert, of New Hampshire.

Claudette was predeceased by her husband; father; mother; and sister.

She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Sincere thanks to all the medical staff in the emergency room and ICU at Central Maine Medical Center, who cared for our mom and helped the family through this very difficult journey.
