FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue’s Sam Smith blazed across the slopes to a first-place finish with a combined time of 1:21.30 in the boys’ Otterslide Slalom race at freezing Titcomb Mountain on Wednesday afternoon.
Edward Little’s Kyle Mooney (1:22.16) finished in second place. Rounding out the top 10 were: 3. Robbie McKee (Maranacook) 1:22.86, 4. Eli Yeaton (Mt. Blue) 1:22.91, 5. Brody Hawthorne (Leavitt) 1:26.23, 6. Colby Vandecker (Oxford Hills) 1:28.54, 7. Jake Arel (Edward Little) 1:30.08, 8. Leighton Girardin (EL) 1:30.24, 9. Maxx Bell (EL) 1:32.56, 10. Jack Kearing (MB) 1:34.33.
The Red Eddies won the event with a team score of 26 points, followed by Mt. Blue (35) and Maranacook (49).
In the girls’ Otterlside Slalom race, the Spruce Mountain Phoenix owned the top 10 at Titcomb.
The Phoenix’s Allison Acritelli glided into first place with a combined winning time of 1:31.64, followed by Mt. Blue’s Ellie Pelletier at 1:31.73.
Rounding out the top 10 were: 3. Katie Ide (Maranacook) 1:33.33, 4. Julia Pomeroy (Spruce Mountain) 1:36.25, 5. Adria Plourde (SM) 1:36.27; 6. Jordan Cummings (Edward Little) 1:37.82, 7. Brooke Bolduc (Mt. Blue 1:39.28, 8. Janika Pakulski (Maranacook)1:40.38, 9. Ashley Wiles (MB) 1:40.67, 10. Bailey Coates (SM) 1:41.54.
The high-flying Phoenix won the event with 20 points, followed by Mt Blue (37) and Maranacook (42).
