GRAY — Oliver Grant ignited a 22-8 run in the fourth quarter that allowed Gray-New Gloucester to secure a 64-48 victory over Fryeburg in a late-season boys’ basketball tilt.

Grant scored all 12 of his point tally in that key fourth frame. John Martin led the Patriots (9-6) with 13 points, including three shots from beyond the arc.

Fryeburg (7-8) was paced by Tucker Buzzell with a game-high 14 points, while Scott Parker chipped in with 13.

Carrabec 63, Monmouth 59

MONMOUTH — Evan Holzwartz lit the boards for 26 points to lead Carrabec to a 63-59 boys’ basketball win over Monmouth on Tuesday.

Alex Stafford chipped in for the Cobars (5-11) with 18 points, the only other player in double figures.

The Mustangs (3-13) were paced by Gabe Martin with 17 points, while Connor Davies tallied 14 and Dylan Lajoie added 12.

Scarborough 71, Lewiston 55

LEWISTON — Paul Kirk led a group of five players in double figures as Scarborough rolled to a 71-55 rout over Lewiston in more late-season boys’ hoops action Tuesday.

Kirk led Scarborough (13-3) with 16 points, while Brian Austin and Nick Siollo chipped in with 11 points each. Reece Lagerquist and Morgan Pratt also contributed with 10 points apiece.

The Blue Devils (2-13) were led by Ali Omar with a game-high 25 points. Hassan Hussein chipped in with 14 points in an effective two-man attack.

Winthrop 40, Mt. Abram 35

WINTHROP — After building a 10-point advantage in the first quarter, Winthrop hung on to record a 40-35 win over Mt. Abram in more local boys’ basketball action.

Cam Wood led the Ramblers with a solid 16-point performance, the only player to reach double figures.

The Roadrunners were paced by Nate Luce with nine points, while Casey Holt chiped in with eight.

Oak Hill 57, Telstar 49

WALES — Oak Hill built a nine-point lead in the first from Tuesday and hung on to secure a 57-49 late-season boys’ hoops victory over Telstar.

Darryn Bailey recorded another double-double for the Raiders (6-10), scoring 20 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Cowan Darnell chipped in with 11 points, while DJ Pushard and Gavin Rostrum each added 10.

The struggling Rebels (5-11) were led by Jarrett Beanwith a game-high 26 points, while Blake Rothwell tallied 16 in a powerful two-player effort.

Oxford Hills 59, Windham 48

PARIS — After a tight first half, Oxford Hills pulled away for a 59-48 win over Windham in a Class AA North boys’ basketball game on Tuesday.

Chris St. Pierre led all scorers with 23 for Oxford Hills (8-6), while Atreyu Keniston earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Windham (9-5) was outscored by nine in the second half which led to the defeat. Nick Curtis led the Eagles with 19 points, followed by Mike Gilman with 15.

Rangeley 49, Pine Tree 10

RANGELEY — The Lakers outscored the Breakers, 29-2 in the second half en route to a 49-10 Class D South win at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.

Rangeley (13-2) led 8-4 after a quarter despite missing on all eight of its field goal attempts. Natasha Haley made eight free throws, part of her game-high 19 point effort.

Brooke Egan chipped in eight points, while Olivia Pye added six in the win. Haley had 11 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double, while Kylie Collins had six steals.

Adriana DePalma led Pine Tree (3-12) with six points.

Scarborough 58, Lewiston 49

SCARBOROUGH — Despite a late Lewiston rally, Scarborough hung on for a 58-49 late-season girls’ hoops win over Lewiston on Tuesday.

Madison Blanche led the Red Storm (13-3) with 19 points, while Sophie Glidden added16 points.

The Blue Devils (6-9) were paced by Jordyn Rubin with a solid 11-point effort, while Victoria Harris tallied 10 and Maddy Foster added eight.

Gray-New Gloucester 57, Fryeburg 23

FRYEBURG — After a robust 20-6 run in the second frame, Gray-New Gloucester stayed in the gas on Tuesday and hung on to record a 57-23 victory over Fryeburg.

Brianna Jordan led the Patriots with 19 points, including 11 in that key second quarter. Jordan Grant chipped in with 14 points, the only other player to reach double figures.

Fryeburg was paced by Tina LeBlanc with a solid eight-point effort, while Kalie Eastman and Kaylee Emery each added six.

Boys’ hockey

Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 4, Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale 0

HALLOWELL — Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse’s Noah Austin scored all four goals for the Eagles, making it two straight wins and its fourth overall, defeating hosts Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale 4-0 Tuesday night.

Eagles goaltender Cade Charron made 23 saves. Nick Austin had two assists and Jacob Sargent chipped in with one assist.

Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale netminder Dalton Bowie made 18 saves in the losing effort.
