GREENE — Lloyd Albert Boyd Jr., “Chip,” 66, of Greene, joined his father Sunday, Jan. 28, to continue wheeling and dealing their next bargain.
A “Chip” off the old block was born to Helen and Lloyd Boyd Sr. in Lewiston, April 18, 1951. He graduated from ELHS, Class of 1970 and attended Unity College majoring in forestry.
Chip had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, so no moose, deer, fish or chicken was safe. He retired from P&G in 2006 and because he liked the free food so much he retired again from the USPS in 2017.
As a jack of all trades there was nothing he could not build or fix, and his many “treasures” filled the hearts……… and garages of others.
He took pride in becoming an auctioneer, member of the Tyrian Lodge and the Kora Shrine Temple. Chip enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and doing word searches, yet his greatest accomplishment was loving and providing for his family, preferably with a coupon.
Welcoming him home are his dad; grandparents; father-in-law, Richard Dunn; uncle, Walter Sleeper; brother-in-law, Kerry Jon Dunn; and great-niece, Olyvia Hickman.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 44 years, Debra; sons, Troy, Toby (Carrie), Matthew (Whitney); daughter, Megan Boyd (Derrick) Laflamme; treasured niece, Heidi Hickman; mother, and mother-in-law, Helen Sleeper; grandchildren, Tiffany, Tristan, Elise, Harrison and Amelia Boyd, Levi and Liam Laflamme; great-grandchildren, Xavier and Oliver; brothers, Donald (Mary), Daniel (Debra), Jeffrey (Darlene) Boyd; sister, Barbara Stevens; uncle, Ralph (Mary) Sleeper; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Michael Stadnicki, the wonderful medical team that contributed to Chip’s care at CMMC, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice with a special heartfelt thank you to Crystal Guerrette for her “labor of love.”
Chip was a man with few words but fathoms of strength, the rock of our family even while being challenged with bladder cancer. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, mischievous twinkle in his eye, his endless patience and kindness.
