SABATTUS — Police have identified a possible suspect in an attempted convenience store burglary over the weekend.
Lt. Sheila Wetherbee said Wednesday her department used Facebook to post surveillance photos in an effort to develop leads, including those of a man who appears to be wearing a hooded jacket and had partially covered his face.
Police identified one suspect in the case, but “other than that, we don’t have any decent leads at this time,” she said. She urged anyone with information about the incident to call the Police Department.
The Settlement convenience store at Middle and Crowley roads was closing Saturday night when someone smashed a window and tried to force open one or two doors to gain entry, Wetherbee said.
Several lines, including phone and cable, were cut.
An employee, who had just closed the store when the attempted break-in occurred, called police, Wetherbee said.
Police believe the suspect was on foot.
“We have a lot of really good video footage,” Wetherbee said.
