TURNER — Elma May Cooper (E. May), 101, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Monday, Jan. 29, in Turner.

She was born in Augusta on June 18, 1916. May lived in Maine her entire life. She worked for Bon Ton Footwear for over 10 years until her retirement. She shared a loving marriage with Robert Cooper until his passing in 1988.

May enjoyed flowers, bird-watching, wildlife, sewing and embroidery, cooking and spending time with her family.

May is survived by her children, Christina Gauthier of Kettering, Ohio, Ed Cooper of Turner, and David Cooper of Auburn; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, Robert Tilton and wife, Beverly, Dorene Milewski.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her sons, Andrew and Al Cooper; Barbara Steele and Lorraine Additon; and several siblings.
