TYNGSBORO, Mass. — The L/A Nordiques made a late push, but couldn’t overcome a three goal deficit as the third-place New England Stars defeated the Nordiques, 5-3. The Nordiques remain in first place in the Coastal Division.
Derek Flynn picked up three goals to pace the Stars. Ian Gatley had the empty-netter and an assist in the contest, while Ryan Gauvin also scored.
Andrew Ghimpeteanu made 30 saves in the victory.
JP Chauvin, Connor Kennedy and Adam Colclough each scored for the Nordiques, while Shayne Plummer and Cole Ouellette each had two assists.
Michael Errico made 32 saves in the losing effort.
The Nordiques cap the weekend off Saturday when they face the second-place Northeast Generals in Attleboro, Massachusetts, at 7 p.m.
