LEWISTON — Rebecca Blanche Bennett, 76, of Turner, was welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms Thursday, Feb. 1, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Madison on June 29, 1941, she was the daughter of Saliem and Shirley Durgin Thomas, and was educated in Portland schools.

She was a huge Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and never missed a chance to start a round of singing “99 bottles of beer on the wall.”
She is survived by her children, Tia Roberts and husband, Seth, Corinne Ryan and husband, Rick, Joel Hall and wife, Zoe, Gina Ryder and husband, Bob, Martin Thomas and Bob Bailey; stepchildren, David Bennett Jr., Cheri Bennett and Julie Bennett; sisters, Mona Button and husband, Skip, Dottie Fontaine and husband, Tom, Judy Gagne and husband, Dick, Diane Greenwood and Lorrillie Thomas; a brother, Richard Greenwood, and wife, Jean; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Madison, and five siblings; Sheila, David, Wadeah, Michael and Darryl.
