MEXICO — A Woolwich man remains in a Wiscasset jail, charged with stabbing a 41-year-old Mexico man at a home on Carlton Avenue last week, Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said Tuesday.
Robert McKenney, 41, is charged with elevated aggravated assault and violation of bail for a prior assault, Hodsdon said. McKenney also had two arrest warrants from Sagadahoc County for violation of bail and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, the chief said.
McKenney is being held at Two Bridges Region Jail in Wiscasset in Lincoln County.
Also charged in the incident was 42-year-old Tonya Hastings of Mexico. She is being held at the Oxford County Jail in Paris on charges of assault and obstructing government administration, Hodsdon said.
According to the chief, officer Dean Benson responded to a report of a stabbing at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 2 at the Carlton Avenue home and found three people involved in an altercation.
Hodsdon said Hastings assaulted the Mexico man and McKenney stabbed him once in the left side. The man was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where he was treated and released.
