AUBURN — Longtime Androscoggin County Treasurer Robert Poulin resigned last week for health reasons.
Poulin has served as treasurer since October 2001.
“I found him very accommodating,” County Administrator Larry Post said. “He always just wanted to do a good job. His assistance was invaluable to me with things like the budget, union contracts and other county business.”
Employees in the treasurer’s office praised Poulin’s dedication and the smile he brought to work daily with his infectious sense of humor.
Post said the job will be posted within the next couple of weeks with a hiring committee selected to review applicants. The committee would include county employees and commissioners.
Poulin was unavailable for comment.
“His expertise is going to be missed,” Post said.
