AUBURN — Joseph Armand Normand Sirois, 82, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, peacefully at his home in Auburn, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewiston on May 29, 1935, to George and Marie (Boucher) Sirois. While serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he met and married the love of his life, Shirley June (Goldsmith), in England, on Oct. 12, 1955.
He served in the Air Force and was active in the National Guard for several years. He owned and operated Sirois and Sons Upholstery for over 30 years. He was a coach driver for various regional transportation companies, permanently retiring two years ago from Hudson Bus Lines.
Joe was a devoted father. Together he and Shirley raised six children with love and a sense of humor, often playing along with their practical jokes. He taught them the importance of family and to appreciate each other.
Joe enjoyed fishing, going on long drives, watching movies, making sentimental gifts and relaxing in the sun drinking coffee on his deck. He was an enthusiastic New England sports fan and liked watching sports. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley; sons, Normand and his wife, Tammera, of Limerick, Mark and Yvette of Hallandale, Fla., Glenn and his wife, Pauline, of Tampa, Fla., Lyndon and his wife, Katherine, of Minot, Robert and his wife, Jennifer, of Tampa, Fla.; his daughter, Sandra Morin, of Lewiston; his grandchildren, Jessica Sirois, Heather and her husband, Thomas Printup, Shannon and her husband, Travis Martel, Desiree and her husband, Jeremiah Graham, Ashley Brown and significant other, Bill Grealish, Alexander Sirois, Vanessa Sirois and significant other, Paul Callahan, Josh and his wife, Heidi Sirois, Stephanie Sirois and her significant other, Kyle Shangraw, and Madison Sirois; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Noah, Elijah, Hayden, Gage, Landon, Josiah, Sawyer, Hadley and Frankie.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Marie Sirois; his siblings, Fernand Sirois, Noella Poulin and Doris Sirois; his daughters-in-law, Melanie Sirois and Laurie Dillon; his son-in-law, Henry Morin Jr.; his sister-in-law, Marline Carr; and many others relatives in the U.K.
