LEWISTON — Charles P. MacDonald, 85, of Lewiston, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, at Marshwood Center. He was born in Beverly, Mass., on July 17, 1932, the son of Eugene and Alice Kendall MacDonald, of Beverly, Mass.
He lived in Salem, Mass., for many years before putting down roots in Maine. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Ashlar Lodge No. 105 AF & AM in Lewiston and a member of the Kora Temple in Lewiston. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an accomplished painter. He retired from Nissen Baking Co. of Portland as director of technical services.
He is survived by his wife, Bryann Corbett MacDonald, of Lewiston; son, Dennis, and his friend, Vickie, of Arlington, Mass.; son, Scot, and his wife, Jan, of Scarborough; daughter, Lenore; and two grandsons. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Edward and Ronald MacDonald, and his sister, Madeline Rossignoll, all of Massachusetts.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Marshwood for the care Mr. MacDonald received. He was taken by the wings of angels to a far better place.
