AUGUSTA — The Maine Women’s Hall of Fame 29th annual celebration will be held Saturday, March 17, at the Randall Stewart Center, Fireplace Lounge, University of Maine at Augusta. The Silver Tea and Registration will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. and the Induction Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.

The Hall of Fame will honor the late Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby, who was the first Registered Maine Guide. She helped pass legislation requiring hunting guides to register with the state. She was a sportswriter and presented at numerous sportsman’s shows in the Northeast to promote outdoor sports in Maine.

The organization will also honor Julia Clukey, a U.S.A. Luge Olympian who started a summer camp for girls in Maine, helping 610 girls. She has talked to girls at 63 schools in Maine on setting goals. Clukey is a speaker for the National Women’s Sports Foundation. She was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

The celebration is open to the public.

To honor the inductees, contributions will go to the BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation scholarships for women.
