RUMFORD — John V. Wiken III, 75, of Peru passed away suddenly Feb. 22, 2018. He was born in Dixfield, Maine, with his twin sister, Jeanne, to John V. Wiken Jr. and Nellie Tutlis Wiken. He graduated from Stephens High School and attended Wentworth Institute. John worked as a bridge inspector for the state of Maine.
He was married on May 22, 1982, to Sheila Garriepy Wiken, and together they enjoyed renovating their home, spending time snowmobiling and an annual fishing trip to Moosehead Lake. He also enjoyed musical theater and never missed shows at Maine State Music Theater. John loved watching animals and birds, and if he visited a home with a dog, he could be usually found on the floor with the pet.
John is survived by his wife, Sheila Wiken; his twin sister, Jeanne Wiken; and his cat, Hoodsie. He was predeceased by his parents.
