RANGELEY — The Creative After School Arts program, operating daily in the Rangeley Friends of the Arts Lakeside Theater, is keeping students creating and engaged. It is a free program for students in grades five through 12.

The CASA students work on arts and humanities projects. In December they completed a humanities project, raising $272 for the Franklin County Animal Shelter in Farmington.

Currently, several students are taking instrumental music lessons with instructor Mike Schrader and learning watercolor painting techniques with artist Pam Ellis. Other CASA students are working on a public art piece to be completed and displayed before summer. Students are also working with WRGY and the statewide “Read to ME” program, reading aloud and recording bedtime stories to create a regularly scheduled radio program.

The CASA program is always accepting new students. The weekly schedule of classes and workshops is posted in the RLRS weekly newsletter. Registration forms are in the brochure holder by the theater front door. FMI: visit www.rangeleyarts.org.
