FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Animal Shelter has announced the Pets of the Week.
Dog of the Week Draco, a 1-to-3-year-old male, American Staffy mix, is a powerful and playful, high-energy super-smart guy who’s still learning leash manners. He’s very affectionate, and would do well in a home with older kids, but not with cats or other dogs.
Cat of the Week Abby-the-Cat, a senior female, is a very sweet, older girl who is diabetic and needs a family who is comfortable giving insulin shots on a daily basis. Abby gets along fine with other social cats, but is a little timid around dogs.
Abby-the-Cat, Draco and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
