MINOT — Elwin J. Mulherin, 84, passed away peacefully after a battle with Alzheimer’s, Monday, March 5, with his loving family by his side. “Jim” was born in Jefferson, N.H., on Feb. 28, 1934, to the late Arthur and Pearl Mulherin. He graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1952 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee.
Jim worked at Bancroft & Martin, Doran-Maine, Northeast Culvert and Swan’s Concrete. He loved to hunt, fish and drive his four-wheeler. He also truly enjoyed his time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When they were around, his smile would light up a room.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Paula; his children, Cheryl Mullen and husband, Bruce, of Minot, Kevin Mulherin and his wife, Jan, of Leeds; his son-in-law, David Perry, of Greene; his brother, Danny Mulherin, and wife, Jerrie, of Monmouth; his sister, Patricia LeBlond, and husband, Al, of Winthrop; brother-in-law, Gary Marston, of Lewiston; along with his 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Marston, and his daughter, Brenda Perry.
