The common folks feel that the time has come for a little sermon to automobile drivers against speeding through slush. Pedestrians and drivers of slower vehicles have some rights, and bills for damaged clothes can be collected.
50 years ago, 1968
The Bates College radio station this evening will broadcast the speech of Pulitzer Prizewinner Harrison Salisbury which was presented at the college Tuesday evening. The broadcast, over station WRJR- 91.5 megacycles, will begin at 9 o’clock.
25 years ago, 1993
(Photo captions) More than 500 parents and students turned out Monday night at McMahon School in Lewiston for an International Fair featuring the cuisine and customs of eight foreign countries. Sixth-graders Jeff Lavoie and Ricky Baillargeon make like hombres in Mexico. Fifth grader Renee Mercier, meanwhile, looks like Marie Antoinette, who was beheaded in France 200 years ago. At bottom, School Committee members are serenaded by students.
