The Osprey (Whiting Bay)
By Jim Mello
The Osprey
Rises
On the currents of air
To hover
Wings triangled
To soar
Spiral
On the wind
Against the wind
Over, under, above
In
The wind
Eyes piercing the waters of the bay
Sun dazzled
To beeline
Smash face first
The waters
Of potential satiation
Only
To rise again
With or without
The necessary food.
