SOUTH PARIS — Early morning Thursday, March 22, Donald Eugene Bernard passed away at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Exelia (Gagnon) Bernard; his brothers Robert and Paul; and his sister, Lucille. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. Donald will be forever lovingly remembered by his surviving wife, Rose Marie Bernard; his son and his wife, Peter and Diane; his grandchildren and their spouses: Josh and Becky, Jeremie and Erica, Julia, Jesse and Stella, Jeffrey and Vanessa; his great-grandchildren: Carter, Ivan, Anika and Madison; his niece, Sue, and her husband, Richard Doyon; and his many friends, nieces and nephews whom he held so close his heart.
Donald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He spent the rest of his professional career as an electrician, the job he loved. He is perhaps best known for his incredible sense of humor, his charming personality, and his piercing blue eyes. He loved spending time with his friends and family and will remain in our hearts forever.
Friends and family are invited to share memories and offer condolences by visiting Donald’s online guestbook at www.thefortingroupauburn.com.
