NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, located in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building, 199 Main St., has announced the April calendar.

Yoga Warriors: 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, at Posabilities, 15 Tannery St. The free gentle yoga class will support healthy living for individuals facing the challenges of cancer through gentle movement and breath, supportive restorative yoga postures, and guided mediation and relaxation. Banding Together To Restore: From 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26, at Richard Bader Physical Therapy, 176 Main St. The program, led by Lori Britting, is focused on regaining motion and strength through guided instruction using stretching and colored Therabands. Preregistration is encouraged. Call 207-890-0329 or register day of class by arriving 15 minutes early.

Yoga for Wellness: 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays. Either Kat Larsen or Sherri will teach the class at the center, including breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing. Check the website for more information.

Self Reiki: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 13. Charlotte LaBelle of Teresia Reiki will demonstrate how Reiki helps to alleviate stress and promote relaxation.

Self-Reflexology: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20. Karen Tibbetts will demonstrate how applying pressure to reflex points may help improve circulation and reduce body stress.

Stampin’ Up: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4. Kathy provides materials and instruction to make a variety of cards.

Beginning Steps to Paint with Watercolors: 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 19. Suzanne Hardy will teach the beginning steps to paint with watercolors. Learn what materials are needed and practice basic techniques. Registration requested due to class size limit. Call 207-890-0329.

Beading Project: 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Lively Accents, 310 Main St. 

All programs are free to anyone impacted by cancer, survivors and caregivers. Visitors are welcome to stop by for information and to join in one or all the activities. In case of inclement weather, when SAD 17 cancels classes, activities sponsored by the center are canceled as well.

Drop-in hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items, such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or to look for resources. They have many pamphlets and a lending library. Activities such as coloring, knitting or games are available at all times.
