AUBURN — Peggy Ann Buker Rice, 70, of Auburn, died Monday evening, March 26, at Clover Healthcare.

She was born in Rumford, May 14, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Eleanor Young Buker. She grew up in the Bethel area and graduated from Woodstock High School.

Peggy had worked at Newton-Tibbetts and Hanover Dowel Co. She was a member of the Apostolic Holiness Church in Poland Spring. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to the country music dances and dancing. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, puzzles and playing cards. She was married to Edward Rice, who predeceased her.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Buker and his wife, Rose-Marie, of West Paris, and Justin Buker and Erin, of Bryant Pond; stepchildren, Edward Rice of Albany, and Tammra Rice and fiancée, Roger Waterhouse, of Woodstock; grandchildren, Mikel-Lee, Sonya, Alac, Taiah, Kara, Jacob, Makayla, Matthew and Tiffany; three great-grandchildren, Melina, Julia and Emmett; three brothers, Robert and Gail Buker of Bethel, Raymond and Rhonda Buker of Newry, and Calvin and Darlene Buker of West Paris; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was predeceased by a grandson, Michael.
