JAY — The Regional School Unit 73 budget meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Spruce Mountain Middle School cafeteria.
The 2018-19 budget is $749,907 more than the one for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30. However, the $9.44 million to be raised through taxes is $1.44 million less than in 2017-18.
Under the proposal, Jay’s assessment would be $5.70 million, a decrease of $1.39 million; Livermore’s is almost $1.96 million, down $41,300; and Livermore Falls’ is $1.78 million, down $7,971.
A budget validation referendum is scheduled April 24 at town polling stations.
