AUGUSTA — Gerald “Jerry” Lee Cote, 73, of Rumford, passed away Saturday, March 24, at Togus Veterans’ Home Hospice Unit, after a series of hospitalizations due to cardiac issues.

He was born July 24, 1944, to Hyacinthe and Delia (Therriault) Cote. He graduated from Stephens High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force, stationed in Limestone.

Jerry loved to dabble in antiques and collectibles and traveled to and from Canada often. He enjoyed going to yard sales and doing flea markets and belonged to several clubs and organizations in the Rumford area. He always tried to extend a helping hand to those in need. He spent his holidays with his daughter and family and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

His oldest son, Paul Albert Hyacinthe Cote, died in 1984, while living with his dad, in Rumford.

Surviving are his four children: Christinalyn M. Cote, of Waterville, and her four children, Corey Allen Cote, 28, Callie Anne Cote, 18, Courtney Amanda Cote, 14, and Colten Adam Cote, 5; and his sons: Clint Cliff Cram Cote from Hiram, and his son, Zachery Whitmore, 18; Jere Vernon Cram and wife, Joy, of Norway, and their son, Caleb M. Cram, 6, and lastly, Kyle Andre’ Cote-Simmons of Philadelphia, Pa.

He was also predeceased by his parents; three sisters, Gloria Nadeau, Lorraine Soule and Merise Cornish; and brothers, Norman, Wilbur, Raymond, Robert, Charlie, Ernest and Leonard.
