FARMINGTON — A Skowhegan man is accused of taking between $1,000 and $10,000 from the MaineCare Program in Wilton, according to Franklin County court documents.

Ricky P. Condon, 53, of 142 Madison Ave., No. 2, was indicted Wednesday on a felony charge of theft by deception.

MaineCare is the state Medicaid program. It is a federally and state-funded program that pays medical expenses for people who are unable to pay some or all of their own health-care bills.

The alleged thefts occurred between about  Oct. 27, 2011, and June 6, 2012, in Wilton.

Efforts to reach Condon for comment Thursday were unsuccessful.

The investigating officer for for the Maine Attorney General Healthcare Crimes Unit is Jeffrey J. Wrigley. Assistant Attorney General John Patrick Burke Jr. is the prosecutor in the case.
