Jenna French

A woman whose body was found locked in her own car trunk committed suicide and died from a drug overdose, Maine state police said Friday.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office said 30-year-old Jenna French died from acute intoxication of Oxycontin and Hydroxyzine.

French’s death is not considered suspicious.

According to investigators, French’s car was found abandoned in the Palmyra Walmart parking lot March 2 and was towed to the Varney Chevrolet dealership to be unlocked because relatives did not have a key.

Her body was discovered by dealership employees who then called police.

Detectives believe French crawled into the trunk from the passenger compartment and then pulled the rear seats upright. Next to her police found a bottle of pills and an iced coffee.
