BATH — The Chocolate Church Arts Center will host musicians and comedians in performances April 13 and 14 at 804 Washington St.

The Adam Ezra Group will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. April 13. According to frontman Adam Ezra, the essence of the group is community. To the musicians, community is epitomized by a belief they all share: making music together is itself a form of grassroots organizing, capable of nothing less than changing the world.

The group is made up of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Adam Ezra, drummer Alex Martin, percussionist Turtle, fiddler Corinna Smith, bass player Francis Hickey and keyboardist Josh Gold.

Tickets are $20 advance; $25 at the door.

At 7:30 p.m. April 14, the female comedians of the Ladies of Laughter take the stage. Each year, hundreds of women apply to compete in the Ladies of Laughter Contest. Enjoy a night with 2016 Winner Kelly MacFarland and Carolyn Plummer, 2016 runner-up.

Kelly shares her life experiences in a way that only she can. In contrast, Carolyn pulls material from the hum-drum, day-to-day monotony of life. Both MacFarland and Plummer offer a refreshing yet playful point of view to  their audience members. Tickets are $21 advance/$24 at the door.

Tickets for both performances are available by calling the Chocolate Church box office 207-442-8455 or to purchase online www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
