RUMFORD — Mr. Wilson Alfred Gagnon, 79, died Wednesday, April 11, at his residence on Penobscot Street in Rumford.
Born in Rumford on Nov. 24, 1938, he was the son of Robert and Evelyn (Lefebvre) Gagnon. He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford and the University of Maine at Orono. He worked as a senior marine surveyor.
He was married in Rumford on Aug. 30, 1958, to Barbara Caron, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Brown and husband, Donald, of Randolph, and Evelyn Kelley and husband, Charles, of Gardiner; a son, Robert O. Gagnon, of Pittston; four grandchildren, Devon Brown, Lee Hickey, Ellen Kelley, Grace Kelley; two great-grandchildren, Eva Libby Hickey and Dorion Hickey; his best friend, Gary Estes, of Peru.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Libby Hickey.
