LEWISTON — Muguette “Maggie” Lachance Landry, 95, passed into eternity Friday, April 13.
Born in Auburn, March 16, 1923, to Cleophas and Eva Lachance, she was educated in Auburn schools and later, Pelletier Beauty School.
She was a hairdresser for more than 60 years. She loved to dance and play bingo. In her later years she enjoyed playing tennis, cross-country skiing and playing bridge. Her greatest pastime was lying in the sun, especially at the beach.
On Jan. 6, 1951, she married the love of her life, Russell Landry, who passed away in May 1969.
She is survived by daughter, Joyce (Dennis Sumlin) Adkins, of Atlanta, Ga.; and son, Ken (Lydia) Landry, of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister, Jeanne D’Arc Lachance, of Quebec; and loved by four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by six brothers, Laurier, Norman, Robert, Richard, Conrad and Roger; and four sisters, Claire, Madeleine, Theresa and Claudette.
Maggie was known for her strong personality, but it was that strong personality that helped her through the difficulties in her life. She will be forever loved and missed.
