I am supporting Mark Eves for governor. The recent debate among the seven Democratic candidates for governor was very impressive in that every single woman and man running seems capable and passionately committed to the people of Maine.

But when it comes to getting the Legislature to actually listen to Maine’s citizens and follow through with thoughtful governance as public servants, it is Eves who needs to be leading the return to effective, civil and compassionate government. His history as speaker of the House — elected twice — and his professional commitment to his community as a licensed family therapist proves his ability to listen to — and work with — all stakeholders and all viewpoints.

Mark Eves’ refreshing honesty, his intelligence and his integrity will serve all the people of Maine well.
