Canton trail work day announced
CANTON — The Canton Parks and Trails Committee will have a work day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Heritage Garden and trails.
The rain date is May 12.
Lithuanian club going to Boston
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will take a trip to visit Boston’s Lithuanian Club.

Retired wildlife biologist to discuss birding
FARMINGTON — “Birding in Maine” will be the focus of a Western Maine Audubon program at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the North Dining Hall, University of Maine at Farmington.
Retired wildlife biologist Ron Joseph will share his experience and knowledge of where to go and what to see.
Joseph retired as a Maine wildlife biologist in 2010 following a 33-year career with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He specialized in migratory bird conservation by restoring habitat on private lands and conducting breeding bird surveys. He also studied Canada lynx and bald eagles.
Today, Joseph leads birding trips for Claybrook Mountain Lodge in Highland Plantation. He also writes for Down East and Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors magazines.
Programs are free and open to the public.
Lions looking for donations
WILTON — The Wilton Lions Club annual yard sale will be held Friday through Sunday, June 22 to 24, next to the Big Apple, Routes 2 and 4. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Donations are tax deductible and the club will provide a receipt upon request.
