OTISFIELD — Frank W. Green, 94, died Monday, April 23, at his home in Otisfield.

He was born in Otisfield on April 12, 1924, the son of Nathaniel and Ruby Green. He graduated from Norway High School, then enlisted in the United States Marines, serving in World War II.

Upon returning home he went to work at Robinson Manufacturing, where he worked until he retired. He married Marilyn “Maggie” Green, the love of his life, Aug. 15, 1948. They had three daughters and spent 62 happy years together, until her death in 2010.

They loved snowmobiling long before there were trails, often heading out and breaking trails through the woods. They were active members of the Rock-O-Dundee Riders Snowmobile Club and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. They loved their time at Aziscohos Lake, fishing, snowmobiling, moose-watching, playing cards with close friends and, of course, the grandchildren.

Frank was an avid fisherman; some would say he could catch a fish out of a mud puddle. He loved hunting, harvesting two bucks and one doe after turning 90, and had just talked about the upcoming season. He had a green thumb and was known for his bountiful gardens. Just this past summer he set out 100 strawberry plants and was looking forward to this year’s crop.

He is survived by daughters, Elaine Gammon and her partner, David Starbird, of South Paris, Carolyn LeBlond and husband, David, of Otisfield, and Maxine Perkins and husband, James, of Oxford; brother-in-law, Franklin Flanders; sister-in-law, Mildred Cummings; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Maggie; brother, Nathaniel Green, and his wife, Marion; sister, Florence Flanders; and son-in-law, Bobby Gammon. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
