CASCO — Loon Echo Land Trust is celebrating Mother’s Day by offering a free Children’s Wildflower Walk at Mayberry Hill Preserve in Casco from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 12. The kid-friendly adventure is a way to share love of nature with future generations.

Loon Echo staff will lead children and their families in a stroll along the preserve’s 1-mile easy trail filled with activities and games to help children learn more about the natural world around them.

Trillium, lady slippers and violets may be in bloom for children to discover. Parents and caregivers will learn tips and tricks for making their own outdoor adventures with their kids fun and educational.

Participants should meet at the Mayberry Hill Preserve trail head at 10 a.m. From the Casco village center, turn right on Mayberry Hill Road and drive to the top of the hill. Turn left at the stop sign and the preserve will be short distance on the right. Parking is available along the road at the trail head. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks and bug spray if needed.

Loon Echo Land Trust’s next program will be held Saturday, June 2, celebrating National Trails Day. For more information about upcoming events or ways to support Loon Echo Land Trust, go to www.lelt.org or call 207-647-4352.
