Katie Trebilcock of Topsham is the winner of the 2018 Art and Our Natural Environment, a $1,000 scholarship contest open to all Maine high school seniors held by Liberty Graphics T-shirts. Trebilcock grew up in Maine, raised by a father who was himself raised in Maine, and a mother who chose Maine later in life. Trebilcock’s path to the award began with private lessons around grade six. She intends to continue creating, though art is not her current career path. She will attend the University of Maine at Orono in the fall, studying wildlife ecology.
